Good news another premier coming in station road

Re: Premier
- Suse (24th Nov 2024 - 08:35:33)

Val

Why is this good news?

M&S or Waitrose would be great news,to offer a selection of shops and not just more of the same.
Don't tell me that they are more expensive, Premier isn't exactly bargain basement.
At least with M&S & Waitrose its a quality service & you get what you pay for.

Or do you have an alternative reason for your accolade, perhaps you or someone you know will work there.

Re: Premier
- Ian (24th Nov 2024 - 08:54:11)

Suse, I think you might be thinking of the wrong premises. M&S and Waitrose do not do convenience stores other than in petrol stations.

Re: Premier
- Joe (24th Nov 2024 - 09:38:13)

Estate agents would love it if there were an M and S or Waitrose in the area pushes up the house prices and the desirability of the area. M and S or Waitrose would need far bigger premises good access for their lorries to unload and a
decent space for a car park. We should be grateful that the premises have been re let.

There's always 1 with a negative attitude and my names not val

Joe, who would benefit most from an uplift in property prices? Probably the house seller rather than the estate agent!

If the value of your house goes up by £50,000 then you the owner would gain £50,000. The average estate agent fee is 1% so the estate agency business gains an extra £500.Let’s assume the average individual commission for an estate agent negotiator is 5%, so they would make an extra £25!!! Not that impressive eh?

Hi,
I think it is good for a new convenience store to open, for people who live on station road side of Liphook.

Residents will be able to buy Fags, Scratchcards, and Ultra-processed junk food. Also high sugar treats for sale.

Re: Premier
- Local (24th Nov 2024 - 16:22:40)

Much better if we had a lidls or a morrisons a bit more suitable for this area. Petersfield has all of them so really quite close.

Re: Premier
- polly (24th Nov 2024 - 17:49:33)

Interesting. Whereabouts in Station Road? Could be useful for commuters if open earlier/late enough.

Re: Premier
- Joe (24th Nov 2024 - 19:13:09)

Neither Lidl and Aldi nor Morrisons operate small shops they all have parking attached and bigger stores than any in station road.

Re: Premier
- M (24th Nov 2024 - 19:46:28)

But Premier just seems to be full of junk food...not fresh food...
and a huge booze cabin... and we have the Wine Shop in Station Road.

A convenience food store would be great in Station Road, but somewhere where you could actually buy something to cook for dinner! And it doesn't have to be fancy!!

Re: Premier
- AF (24th Nov 2024 - 20:09:09)

Just to correct a few people you do get small Waitrose shops and they are called mini Waitrose, also you get small Morrisons there was one in Petersfield next to nationwide building society, not sure if it's still there and of course a small one in Bordon was mcColls.

For those anxious to have another branded supermarket in Liphook should bare in mind that Premier Convenience Stores are wholly owned by Tesco following their acquisition of the Booker group.

They sell a mixture of convenience foods including some Tesco own brands labelled as 'Jacks' (after the founder of Tesco Jack Cohen).

Whoa there's some negative Liphook residents, lets have a moan about everything and anything.

Re: Premier
- SG (29th Nov 2024 - 10:48:30)

I completely agree with Val!

Re: Premier
- SG (29th Nov 2024 - 13:23:58)

I mean to say that I agree with Suse! M&S or Waitrose would be great news.
We don't need another Premier.

Re: Premier
- paul (29th Nov 2024 - 17:17:17)

Hi,

The reason big names the likes of M & S and Waitrose etc, are not here, is a commercial expanding decision only.

Liphook even though with an increasing population in recent years, does not cut-it with the retail big boys.

Our nearest towns Petersfield and Haselmere, have these facilities like Lidl and Aldi.

Our village prehaps, is better to keep it peaceful, and rural, than a big shopping carpark locally.

Re: Premier
- Suse (2nd Dec 2024 - 06:39:12)

Paul

Peaceful and rural? Have you seen how people drive around Liphook recently, nothing peaceful about this is there.

Your comments don't warrant anything further.

Re: Premier
- Sam (2nd Dec 2024 - 19:24:03)

Other retailers in Liphook could learn a thing about friendly customer service from the staff at premier, first class smile and service everytime.
