Which mobile phone contract?
- Bush (8th Jun 2024 - 06:59:48)

Which would be the less-bad mobile phone monthly contract for better local signal coverage and local face-to-face human customer service? Thanks.

Hi I am with Tesco mobile and although not anywhere that local , went into one of the bigger stores which have advisers. Their phone help is very good though, the best I have had so far. I am not sure if there is still a phone shop in Farnham that is the closest I can think of for other providers or probably one in Petersfield. I think they all do mast sharing now so coverage is not really an issue.

Thanks Joe.

Tesco Mobile USED TO provide decent customer service.
The reason for this thread is that they have since stopped bothering with retaining very long-running customers.
For two months in a row they have been charging me extra erroneously. They have admitted to this only after torturous phone calls (at least three) I had to make to them. Promised to refund (no compensate), and make contact with me. They have twice in a row failed to do any of the above.
Their "customer service" is all about payment collection and customer repulsion!

Mobile phone coverage is a VERY local issue. What may work next door may not work at your house; even different rooms may get different reception.

Don't be fooled by service providers' maps telling you that your address is 99% covered. That may be true, but you may be the 1% who can't get a signal unless you're leaning out of the bathroom window.

In my experience, the only way to ensure you will get the coverage you want is to find friends with different service providers, and walk round your home with their phones, looking at the number of 'bars' you can see at different places.

You will be surprised at the variation of signal strength from one supplier to another.
