New Beekeeper Training

2024 – 8th & 9th June Weekend Two Day Course with free frame making workshop on 1st June.

Course includes 70 page training manual, beesuit, hive tool, beverages and packed lunch on both days. Cost £260

Morning Classroom Theory Sessions at The Liphook Millennium Centre.

Apiary Afternoon Sessions: Liphook Training Apiary: Headley Road,

The mornings will be spent on the basics of beekeeping theory until approx. 13:00. We shall then have about an hour for lunch (packed lunch will be provided) and to get you kitted into a beesuit.
Afternoons start at 14:30 to 16:30 at our Liphook training apiary with hands-on practical sessions.

The Course is designed to help new beekeepers or indeed those who have just started beekeeping to increase their knowledge. The course is part theory and practical course combined with the all-important candidate participation.

Candidates are taught how to put together frames, at a separate workshop on Sat 1st June at 10am, also held at our Liphook apiary, the theory covers the lifecycle of the colony, beekeeping year, and practical how to manipulate bees.
The course is supported with Full Training Colour Handbook, and Beekeeping Calendar.

At the end of the course, participants are then encouraged to buy all the necessary equipment and a nucleus colony of bees, in order to get set up, as a starter pack from us at discounted rates. This includes product public liability insurance and Bee Disease Insurance, with Membership to our beekeeping group of 250 beekeepers. Our training apiary also operates as a members apiary to site your first colony, should not have a garden.

Later in the year we provide additional free sessions on removing honey supers, extraction, varroa control and treatment.
