New housing
- Sue (15th Sep 2021 - 20:14:10)

Hi
Does anyone know if there are any new housing developments in Liphook planned for the next couple of years?

There are new houses currently for sale at Oak park off the Longmoor road and permission given for about 10 in the village centre behind London road being marketed by Peter leete. The local estate agents are up to date with that sort of thing.

I think Liphook centre doesn’t have much more in the pipeline having just gone through a fairly significant period of new build in recent years. Longmoor Camp is likely to see a few thousand new homes but probably a few years off happening

Well there a few houses going up with the new cinema, and of course there are likely to be a reasonable number at the old Ajax site, there is already a thread about this on Talkback.

Longmoor Camp? Really? How do you know?

I have a source at EHDC but the only discovery re Longmoor Camp is that the MOD have recently sold a building on some of their land near Greatham to a film company who will use it as a film studio.

@ Dunk and Joe

Longmont Camp is actually within the South Downs National Park so any new developments within the camp will be covered by their planning authority and have nothing to do with EHDC.

The SDNP Local Plan has no reference to any Major Developments in or around Longmont Camp.

As EHDC are not the planning authority not sure how you, Joe, have inside information from them about what might be happening at Longmont Camp......if anything at all.
Possibly just someone spreading rumours and not facts?

These rumours are not dissimilar to the ones circulating when O S.U. Liphook closed. They were a load of b******s as well.

Converting one existing building possibly in the SDNPA is not a housing estate, it would be decided by delegated powers at EHDC. I am not sure it is in the SDNPA area there, it is very close to the A3 near the Bordon/Greatham roundabout, not in the Liphook vicinity anyway, one commercial change of use building would not be in the local plan anyway.
