Power Tools
- Jean (18th Jul 2021 - 07:40:30)

Please could I ask for a little consideration to neighbours having to endure the sound of summer power tools ( a very common species, especially on summer days ). Saturdays, Sundays and evenings are important times to be enjoyed by all. Petrol tools are not only very noisy but also smelly and polluting. Users ,using ear-defenders are oblivious to the horrible sound. As one stops another starts up. Please can I ask for some consideration so we can enjoy being outside without suffering this unpleasant noise and smell.
Thank you in advance.

Power tools etc Monday to Saturday can be used from 7am till 8pm and Sundays and bank hols 8am-8pm.

Different boroughs do state different times in more city like areas.

Hope this helps!!!

Whilst we are on the subject of things that annoy others can I ask that everyone stops breathing please, breathing is disgusting and smelly, if you could all just quietly hold your breath right through the summer so the rest of us can enjoy it in piece.

Power tools are a blessing compared to living next to some people. Screaming and swearing at all times of the day and night. Now that is unfair

Anyone who needs to use a strimmer has already failed as a gardener😂😉😜

If you need to weed, pull up by hand, strimmers destroy nature indiscriminately and are antisocial, especially if used before midday on a Sunday morning when I've been out drinking the night before, if you need to cut grass, use a (preferably quiet electric) lawnmower, as petrol ones are proven to be more polluting than lorries, since they have zero emissions controls at all.

Pesticide is a no no, mind you with the trend is to do no gardening at all and let nature do its thing, something I support 100%, now I just need to convince my wife that gardens are for sitting down in, not working.

To sum up, there are no longer such things as weeds and in that context, zero need to strim!

Er
Some of us are disabled & on our own. Not everyone is physically able to get down on their hands and knees to do the weeding.
I will however pop you a message when mine needs doing again!
