Cinema in the Square
- Paul Robinson (5th Jun 2021 - 20:31:06)
I see that the window has been fly-posted with two circus handbills.
This has improved the image of the property immeasurably.

Don’t take them down. They’re probably holding the building up.

Walked past today, no sign of any work being done, I remember seeing in a post before that work would start in days, I think it was 2 weeks ago?
However on the hoarding boards there are two posters one saying something like hello Liphook and the other The Living cinema.
Goes well with the circus posters.
Cheers
Dee

Perhaps the post about work starting in days was the same person posting reviews about the Anchor.

Thought I had taken a wrong turning from sunny Bordon and arrived at the dump. Then I realised I was in shabby Liphook which is looking a dump :)

Anything would be better than that eyesore.
Even another estate agent!!!

Daisy, I think that’s what they’re waiting for us all to say, so they can then build their flats/houses with local ‘blessing’ (albeit out of exasperation) and forget about any cinema/ents venue. Sorry to be so cynical - I’m not usually that way.

Dave, there’s already a cinema in the village! Watch out for those piggies!

Ian,
If you're on about the rarely used hall with a few chairs showing 10 year old films, we have a differing opinion what a cinema is!!

David
It shows movies, and people pay money to go in to watch them, it’s a cinema! Enjoy the ribs!!

Re: Cinema in the Square
- Liphook Millennium Centre (11th Jun 2021 - 12:11:39)
There are many people that use the Liphook Millennium Centre, and yes the films are not the latest releases, but not everyone wants to go to large cinema's. Our films were well attended pre-Covid-19, and I hope that they will be again soon. The price is very much cheaper, no parking fees, or horrendous prices for snacks and drinks either. Currently due to Covid drinks and snacks are on a BYO basis.
We have a large screen and tiered seating too.
Tonight we are showing Summertime, doors open at 7.20pm
Tickets are sold in advance online,
ticketsource.co.uk/liphookmillenniumcentre
Hope to see you there.

Just driven past the site and work has definitely begun. Just looking out for David's flying pigs now.
