Fly Tipping down by North Lodge
- Richard (29th May 2021 - 15:33:30)

We have just witnessed a white twin wheeled pickup with the name DW Jones Contractors Fly Tip down the lane leading to North Lodge along the Midhurst Road towards Hollycombe. This person has left quite a few mounds of soil but also a lot of rubble of which will now be left for someone else to move!! So if anyone knows who’s driving this white twin wheeled pick up with the name DW Jones Contractors can you tell them they need to come back and collect their stuff!!

Did you get the number plate?

Dm jones contractors are based in east Meon
Dw jones are in Wales

Report all the info you have to Chichester District Council (that area is in West Sussex) and the land owner, who I think may be The Highfield Estate (School) depending on the exact location.

There is a DM Jones contractors in Liphook???

Fly tipping is such a hideous act and someone has probably paid for that waste to be cleared. I hope the police have been informed.

There is indeed a DM Jones contractor in Liphook, but the vehicle seen had DW Jones on it. Companies House show DW Jones to have dissolved in 2019 so the person driving said vehicle may have no connection with this firm anyway. With no registration number I really don't think this is going anywhere.

Do you know the exact time this happened as should have them on CCTV

Are you all sure this was fly tipping? Highfield Estate (who own the fields and woodland to the west of North Lane) were tipping several loads of top soil on top of this rubble today. Perhaps it is all part of their fencing project?

I have emailed him

PD, it was around 3pm on the date I first posted. There were also 2 other lots been dumped earlier in the day but we didn’t see that. Hope this helps.

Richard was it a white pick up. If so I have it on cctv

Re: Fly Tipping down by North Lodge
- Richard (3rd Jun 2021 - 09:45:02)

PD, yes it was a white twin wheeled Transit Pickup, that’s great if you have it on CCTV, are you able to get Reg No? and was it around 3pm as we saw?

Re: Fly Tipping down by North Lodge

Richard
I do have a white Ford Transit tipper, white cab and black tipper part with what appears to be D M Construction. So will pass it on to the police

PD
that’s fantastic Thank you, hopefully this should stop them from doing this again.

We've had DW Jones Contractors, DM Jones Contractors, and now DM Construction. Are we trying to catch the person responsible for this alleged fly tipping or will the owner of any white Ford Transit tipper truck do? I find it hard to believe that a fly tipper would push their luck by returning to the same spot twice in the same day to fly tip even more.

This really is turning into a witch hunt.

I really can't think Highfield would have covered the rubble with soil if it was fly tipped! Prob best to ask the estate before telling the police

Re: Fly Tipping down by North Lodge
- PD (6th Jun 2021 - 15:13:53)

Fat fingers I’m afraid should have been contractors and I’ll pass it on to the police and they can investigate. If it’s not them nothing to worry about, but it’s hard to fool cctv

Re: Fly Tipping down by North Lodge
- PD (6th Jun 2021 - 21:08:01)

J
Im intrigued how you know it was soil over rubble as there is no mention of that, did you also witness it ?

Re: Fly Tipping down by North Lodge
- C (6th Jun 2021 - 21:57:32)

All of the rubble is covered by a thick layer of soil, at least a foot deep. It’s very obvious, on the right just beyond the driveway to North Lodge.

Re: Fly Tipping down by North Lodge
- PD (7th Jun 2021 - 12:04:46)

The reason for that is because one of the people at the industrial units had to move it with his digger as it was blocking the lane where it had been dumped

Re: Fly Tipping down by North Lodge
- J (7th Jun 2021 - 15:47:31)

PD - whilst walking there last Mon, a tipper with the Highfield logo was just unloading load 5, if not 6, of soil on top of the rubble. They wouldn't have covered it if it was fly tipped surely?!

Re: Fly Tipping down by North Lodge
- John (11th Jun 2021 - 03:29:32)

It’s not fly tipping if it is rubble or soil on private land agreed by both party’s.

Re: Fly Tipping down by North Lodge
- Mike (11th Jun 2021 - 11:12:59)

The initial tipping of the rubble and earth was fly tipping. it partially blocked the access to North Lodge and the businesses there.
We cleared it to the side of the lane.
Highfield School then brought in several loads of soil to cover over part of the rubbish, and also to form a bank which would hopefully make it difficult to tip in that particular location again.

Re: Fly Tipping down by North Lodge
- J (11th Jun 2021 - 17:22:15)

Confirmation from the estate that this wasn't fly tipping. All part of combined effort to get on top of the illegal use of the restricted byway by motorised vehicles from North Lodge to beyond the golf club. By filling in the lay-by areas, they hope to discourage the vans that park up, take out their quad and dirt bikes and roar up and down.

We can but hope.

Incidentally, why do people persist in walking in those fields? Fences + gates = private. Not difficult is it?

Re: Fly Tipping down by North Lodge
- PD (12th Jun 2021 - 00:17:40)

Highfield School have done as you have said. But this is further down the lane and completely unrelated to the fly tipping which took place further up the lane towards the Midhurst Road blocking access

Re: Fly Tipping down by North Lodge
- Christopher Apple (2nd Aug 2021 - 21:29:50)

DM Jones has a history of fly tipping around east meon by the farmers.
And now he has moved to Liphook (Meadow end) he’s up to his old tricks.
I hope he is caught red handed soon.
