Shufflesheeps access
- J (2nd May 2021 - 08:35:11)
Does anyone know what's up with the shufflesheeps forest?
On OS maps it's listed as open access, however last time I was there the brand new entrance gate had been crashed and someone had put barbed wire up across it.
Is the map wrong, or is this some foolishness by someone who owns nearby land?

The OS Map clarifies the designation of access land as :-
Access land portrayed on this map is intended as a guide to land normally available for access on foot, for example access land created under the Countryside and Rights of Way Act 2000, and land managed by National Trust, Forestry Commission, Woodland Trust and Natural Resources Wales. Some restrictions will apply; some land shown as access land may not have open access rights; always refer to local signage
I hope this clarifies the situation

Hollycombe estate put up the barbed wire because joy riders , motor bikes and vehicles rode across their land . Also after thieves broke into north lodge farm a while back they drove land rovers and trailers in the woods there and tried to cross fields trying to escape. A few ruined it for many , consequently land owners put up fencing
