Yoga classes
- Alison (26th Apr 2021 - 09:57:49)
Are there any yoga classes or one to one teachers for a complete beginner. I would love to start but have no idea. Have looked at online but I really want somebody to teach me.

Hi
The website address for Fusion Yoga and Tai Chi has changed to www.fusion4health.com.
At the moment classes are online, however hopefully after the 17th May they will go back to face-to-face.
If you're interested in group classes or one to one sessions please contact Glen 07951 888565.

Hi just a quick question or two about yoga as I know a lot of people who have got really into it over the years, they always managed to sound a bit self righteous or new age hippy about it (which has put me off a bit), it's always puzzled me why, is it a new age fad or is it a religion or is it a form of exercise or is it a relaxation/meditation technique, a fashion thing or something in between or is it whatever you want it to be?
I read something that it's a Hindhu religious rite to sanctify yourself or to get closer to God or something, how do Hindhus, Buddhists, Sikhs feel about us westerners doing it for exercise, relaxation, not just on terms of cultural misappropriation but in religious terms, do we need to immerse ourselves in the religious/ spiritual side of the Hindhu/ Buddhist ritual or is it ok just to do the moves without bothering about religion?
My physio gave me a list a while ago, the cow, the cat etc I wonder if these are what you would describe as yoga and do they have a religious significance etc.
Anyway good luck, anything that makes us feel better can't be too badðŸ˜
