Headley Road - resurfacing.
- Editor (14th Oct 2020 - 14:43:16)

Saturday the 24th October 2020 and expected to last for up to 2 days Copy of letter sent to residents.

Headley Road Liphook - Carriageway resurfacing

As part of Operation Resilience, Hampshire County Council’s programme to make Hampshire’s roads more resilient to the effects of extreme weather and heavy traffic, this letter is to advise of upcoming carriageway resurfacing works on a section of Headley Road, Liphook, across it’s junction with Tunbridge Lane.

The works are programmed to start on Saturday the 24th October 2020 and are expected to last for up to 2 days. During this time, the B3004 and Tunbridge Lane will be closed to vehicular traffic from approximately 07:30 – 18:00 hrs each day. The road will be open outside of these hours

There will be controlled access for residents from the junctions of Hollywater Road, Hunters Chase, or Church Lane (For Tunbridge Lane residents).

The above timescales are weather dependent, any significant changes to the scheduled dates will be made clear on the yellow sign boards located at the works limits.

Due to the current COVID-19 situation, works will be carried out ensuring safe working practices, and social distancing between site operatives and members of the public are maintained at all times. The appropriate traffic management will be in place to prevent any interaction.

In order to help us to complete the work as quickly as possible, please ensure that no vehicles are parked on the above road on days of the resurfacing.
Please be aware any vehicles left parked on the road that prevent the works taking place, face the risk of being removed

For your safety and that of our workforce, we are unable to guarantee vehicular access to and from your property during working hours. Pedestrian access will always be available.

The surfacing operation uses a separate bitumen layer in addition to the new asphalt carriageway surface. In order to avoid potential injury or damage, please do not walk across the carriageway during the works unless directed by a member of the workforce.

Thank you for your co-operation and, if you need more information regarding these works, please email roads@hants.gov.uk or call 0300 555 1388.

Yours faithfully,

Operation Resilience

Thanks for posting. People who live off the B3004 / Hollywater Road have not been notified and I've not seen any signs (but I've only been out a couple of times and it was dark)

I wonder if they'll use proper tarmac or the rubbish method of scattering stones
