Hi,
Royal Anchor opening Monday 6th July. They are now taking bookings as will be Table service only.

Fullers pub the Links Tavern have not published an opening day yet, but will reservations as limited tables available.

Green Dragon, no information so far from a new manager.

Deers Hut awaiting news on their website for re-opening date.

do we have to book a table if we just want a drink

Seems pretty straightforward on the Anchor website.
Interestingly when you select what time you want your booking it says “meal time” so I suspect they want you to eat if possible.

Therefore i think the following is true going forward.

- No booking, no entry
- Group bookings will be prioritised as they fill all table seats. So the idle casual pint individual isn’t going to happen.
- Food & Drink ordering will be the pubs commercial priority, a few pints won’t be.

I think it’s pretty clear despite the easing of the lock down the sort of casual drinking freedoms of the past are not going to occur in our local pubs again for a long time.

Sad really, I can’t see all of our local pubs making it another year

The Deer's Hut is opening on Saturday at noon. Table booking essential if you want food, which will be served indoors only. Front and back gardens will be for drinks only. Here's a link to all the information and new set-up.
