How to hand in prescriptions at Lloyds
- Mary W (3rd Apr 2020 - 13:36:02)

Can anyone advise me, please? I searched talkback but it didn't come up with an answer.

I know I will have to stand in line to collect my completed order, but does anyone know if I can put the green request in a box out of hours? I don’t know if I have to queue twice and as I am trying to self-isolate and cannot stand for too long, I am trying to cut down my danger, as we all are.

I was in the chemist queue this morning ,as far as I could make out people with green prescriptions were handing them in and waiting to have them made up perhaps it might be a good idea to ring chemist and ask to make sure

I think it would be best to ring them, unless anyone else here knows the answer. They are always helpful I find.
It would seem unwise to queue in the cold, near people etc just to hand in a prescription request.
It might need to go into the Surgery box first for a doctor's o.k, I assume you have checked that point?

The Village surgery can send prescriptions straight to Lloyd’s, there’s a form to fill in at surgery reception. Ask for at least 2 months supply if it’s a repeat prescription, Lloyds should be able to dispense 2 months of most drugs. Phone Lloyd’s an hour or two before you go, and you should just be able to collect from the door quite quickly. Their no. is 01428 723303.

Thank you you quick responses. I did know about the link direct from the surgery. The problem arises if there is any difficulty with their suppliers. On occasion I have had to ring round and collect from another chemist - once it is stamped at Lloyds it becomes tricky. I might pop up after hours and see if there is a box to put the prescription in. It would make sense, if we could do that.

Thanks to all of you for your help.

Not sure about being able to request two months prescriptions.
I phonedLLloyds and asked if I could apply for repeat 14 days before due date because they take 10 days to deal with prescriptions. Told that such an application would be rejected and to apply 10 days before next issue date.
Perhaps LLoyds can clarify actually what the repeat prescription policy is please.

If it's a repeat prescription then try using Echo, can get delivered direct to home.

Peter, unfortunately Echo is not able to accept any new registrations for the foreseeable future.

I suspect that other, similar services are experiencing the same levels of surge in demand, though admittedly I haven't investigated them yet.

AsK your doctor’s surgery to electronically send them to the pharmacy

Then about a week to ten days later ring said pharmacy to check if ready and collect

Hi
Hope you are all keeping well and safe.
Had a phone consultation with dr on Tuesday morning. Arranged for prescription to go direct to Lloyd’s chemist. Wednesday afternoon went to join queue at chemist (I must say everyone very friendly and chatty) I phoned chemist whilst in queue (40mins) to confirm they had the prescription. By the time I went into shop it was ready and waiting for me. Total time 36 hours. Brilliant service, lovely staff and a very friendly time spent (2m apart) chatting with fellow Liphook residents. We are very lucky to have these facilities in Liphook x

Hi Mary. I've just started using pharmacy 2 you. So long as you give about a weeks notice, your meds can be delivered through the post. Hope this helps

totally recommend pharmacy2u - it takes 10 seconds to place repeat order and gets delivered to the door and costs the NHS less.

Having spent (pre covid) 90 mins plus waiting for a prescription to be ready decided it was best that Lloyds helps those that need it - elderly, urgent ad-hoc prescriptions etc and take my regular one out of the equation and saving the NHS money.

a triple win
