Liphook in Bloom are now planning the summer displays to brighten up our village.
Of course having spent time and money creating displays we have to make sure they are flourishing and during the summer we rely heavily on the goodwill of our dedicated watering team.
At present there is a rota of volunteers who help with watering three or four times throughout the growing season, for about an hour and a half at a time, but we are desperate for more help.
Last summer in particular proved very challenging with some very dry spells and extra ‘watering duty’ was essential to the survival of some plants.
The more teams of 2 we have (one to drive and one to water) the easier it becomes. If you are not interested in gardening and might be able to spare some time to help with the watering you would be welcomed with open arms! If you own a car with a tow bar and would be willing to tow the bowser that would be great, but not essential.

The water tank collecting rain from the Millennium Centre's roof is full in readiness for watering in the growing season.
We look forward to hearing from volunteers to join our team

With the extremely wet winter it might seem inappropriate that we are planning our watering schedule for this forthcoming growing season.
However the hanging baskets rapidly dry out in the summer months when they are exposed to the sun and wind. They need watering twice a week by our team of volunteers.
In addition our wonderful flowerbeds need to be watered occasionally.
If you are interested in helping please contact us on 01428 722859 and speak to Roger Miller who would be happy to meet up with you.
I'm sure that there are new residents of our Parish that would like to become involved in our community so here's your chance!
