Couch to 5K Running Group
- Daniel l Allaway (2nd Feb 2020 - 18:53:27)
Couch to 5k Group Starting in March
Have your New year’s resolutions failed already and it’s only the start of 2020, fear not, all is not lost - do you want to lose weight - do you want to improve your fitness but don't know where to start?
Having run 7 successful Couch to 5k programs in the last three years, I will be running another program in Liphook starting on March 2nd, meeting on Monday and Wednesday evenings at 7:00pm.
This group will get you from not running at all to running a 5k in 11 weeks.
The group will start with run and walk rests over the first few weeks, building up over the 11 weeks to complete a 5k.
From past experience and feedback, doing the C25K as a group is more beneficial to you and you’re more likely to complete the course than doing it on your own.
I am a qualified UK Athletics running coach who is insured and has the relevant licence to coach.
Minimum number of 10 and a maximum of 15 places available, with a discount for two or more signing up at the same time.

Can’t praise this running group enough. Being an overweight, getting on a bit female, I joined the group with lots of concerns as I had never run before. The group was very varied from young to old, male and female and very friendly. We encouraged each other not to give up. I now run 5k every Saturday at a local park run plus two runs on my own around Liphook each week. Still hard but I love it! Keep going with the groups Daniel.

I have been thinking about doing Couch25k for the last couple of years! Unfortunately I can't do the Wednesday evenings unless it had an earlier start time, as I attend another local group (not sport related) on Wednesdays from 7.30.
If there are ever any plans to run these sessions on Tuesdays and Thursdays, I'd give it a go.

Hi Jen
Unfortunately due to other commitments on a Tuesday and a Thursday I can only run these on a Monday and Wednesday.

I joined Daniel's couch to 5k running group in September 2018, having just celebrated my 69 birthday.
It was inspirational. I have now completed 52 Park runs, run regularly during the week and have done a 10km race.
I feel better and fitter than ever and I did it for myself!!!
Go on, give it a go.

Thank you so much Gerd, goes to prove, age is no barrier if you want to live a more active life style.
