Fireworks - Saturday 8 June 2019
- Anon (8th Jun 2019 - 22:41:55)
What’s with the fireworks at 22.30 this evening? Scared my sleeping daughter half to death!

I agree they were incredibly loud, I thought they were explosions on the ranges

Hi I heard them around 22:30, weren’t late and were done in five minutes, so must have been a wedding. I had a search a few months ago and they must be done by 23:00 so at least we’re not later :) we used to live next to a wedding venue so heard them every other night so the odd rare occasion I am sure we can very easily forgive :) life is too short

It was closer than Old Thorns, somewhere on Headley Rd or The Avenue. Disgraceful, no consideration for children or pets!!!

Absolutely too much for my poor dog he was quivering with fear.
Bang out of order I really wish people would let residents know about it on social media etc... Or the venue do it on the client's behalf.
At least then I can have a tennis ball ready or turn the TV up or something!!!!
Really scared the poor boy

If it’s that disgraceful, what’s you proposed solution?
Daytime?
A week’s written notice to the village?
Beware, you’ve bought a house next to a wedding celebration venue?

I live off Portsmouth Road so a fair distance from Old Thorns, they were incredibly loud, not like usual firework noise levels....

For goodness sake old Liphook, get a life! Not that late, not breaking any laws, not harming anyone, people celebrating a special occasion! Fireworks are meant to be loud! Far less offensive than the tired old carnival that blocks the roads, move onwards Liphook or die! BTW , fireworks were for an event at the Deers Hut, one of Liphook’s finest businesses

Bunch of wet flannels, FIreWOrKs ARe loUD. So are your dogs barking at awful hours in the morning. Don’t ask for notice of your dogs barking. Let liphook have fun!

I think it was Passfield, thankfully didn't last too long but yes all the animals will have been spooked.....should be silent fireworks only for private displays, seen some great ones done to music which would be better than what we got last night.

We have lived in Liphook over 20 years and no one has Ever come around and said oh by the way we’re going to let a few fireworks off tomorrow.
Can I ask do you still moan that computers are a bad thing or still believe in Father Christmas ? Thought not so what is with the negative ways! Anonymous what are you hiding? Do you want to be wrapped up in bubble wrap in case you hurt your self?
Oh by the way the military are training over the next few weeks over Longmoor would you like them to post letters though every Tom Dick and Harry’s door saying we are going to make a few bangs and pops for a while. Maybe you should stand in front of the target boards

Question to the anti-firework brigade..... if you or say your son/daughter were getting married would you say no to fireworks at the end of the evening on the grounds of disturbing the people of Liphook......???🎆🎇🎆🎇
We saw them from our bedroom window and enjoyed the display.... thank you!!😃

The fireworks were for the Bramstock.
They advertise the event as ... "Bramstock is a biennial music festival that aims to showcase local young talent alongside experienced musicians, whilst raising money for local good causes" ...
More info on the web site here;

I'm off off to light a sparkler.

I’m afraid not Julian. Not Bramstock. I didn’t miss a minute of it !
Although I have to say there were sparks when my shoes hit the dance floor and virtual fireworks when I swung my hips !
The mystery continues :-)
Had a great one !
Cheers, Finchie
