Commuter Parking Issues
- Adrian (10th Nov 2018 - 03:13:05)

We have a lot of threads on talkback about commuters upsetting people by parking legally around liphook. I can assure people that the commuters will not change due to a rant on this forum.
In fact all you are doing is alerting the commuters to another parking area they may not have known about increasing your problem.
You need to accept that most commuters either cannot afford or do not want to pay an additional £5.00 a day to park in the station car park. Even if they did the car park is full most days.
It's just one of those things, if you live near a school there will be gridlock twice a day, and if you live near a station your road will fill up with commuters. You need to consider these issues when deciding where to live.

Adrian.
Did it cross your mind when writing this post that maybe some of those residents may have lived in their homes 30 years plus. The village then was a lot smaller with less traffic. So consequently there were no issues with commuters and school traffic.

Adrian - while I generally agree with you, when there are parking restrictions in place near a station it is often with local residents in mind. So when commuters flout these restrictions you can’t be surprised when residents get upset.

Newtown Road opposite Liphook station clearly states ‘access only’ at both ends of the road. Yet commuters continue to disregard this.

There have been a lot of rants on this forum about commuter rail services, I can assure people that both network rail and the franchisees will not change due to a rant on this forum.

It's just one of those things, if you chose to commute by rail there will be service disruptions, industrial action, incidents on the line, bridge strikes etc. You need to consider these issues when to get a job dependent on rail travel.

Hello Adrian.
Just wondering if you are the same Adrian that complained about Sainsbury's green bananas and the trains.
If you are keep the posts up .They make me chuckle.!!

Adrian,
Your advice to the residents of the areas where commuters are parking is to pack up and move away.
Why not give the that to the commuters instead?
Or would that mean you moving closer to your work place and leaving peaceful and probably "cheaper" Liphook?

Joc
People can move away if they are distressed by commuters parking near their house, it is a valid option.

The commuters can't move to London, a decent 3 bed house in Liphook or surrounding area 300-400,000 minimum. The same house in London over 1M.

You do the math.

Actually let’s turn the tables here. Instead of people moving who have probably lived where they live for a number of years, why don’t the commuters change their jobs or parking habits!!

People whom suggest a resident have some sort of extra tangible rights which are in direct co-relation to the length of time they have resided, over those whom have either resided for lesser time and or aren’t breaking the law is the clearest definition of a Moron.

If anyone wants to legally park or drive near something that is busy such as a school or station then they are perfectly entitled to do so and how long anyone else has been a resident is completely irrelevant.

I don’t think that Adrian telling people affected by it to move out, I think he is just being helpful by suggesting and contributing an alternative idea for you. It is naive to think you’re going to have any impact on the problem by posting your frustrations on here, it’s also moronic to claim you have resided here longer thus possess more rights.

Pat if you actually read what Helen had put, you will realise that she was talking about commuters parking on an ACCESS ONLY road not about the residents that live on the road. So to put it bluntly I believe you are the MORON

No Sean your the moron, nothing I said was of any reference to Helens post. Try reading more, you clearly need some practise
