British Gas Homecare

On Friday afternoon I booked my annual boiler service by email and immediately received confirmation.
A short while later I received yet another confirmation, followed by another and then another
At the time of writing I have received 51998 yes - fifty one thousand nine hundred and ninety eight confirmations.
I eventually managed to speak to a live person at BG who thinks "there might be a problem" and will report it.

Do all the emails state the same date and time? (I assume you've checked).
If so, consider yourself lucky!

Are you counting each one? It sounds awful.
Really though, I think the person you spoke to at BG had got a handle on it and technically speaking was correct in referring to it as 'a bit of a problem', usually you'll find they are caused by 'a glitch somewhere in the system' which could be rectified by 'getting a bloke in to have a look at it' and in the meantime try turning it on and off again and check that you haven't spilt coffee over your keyboard, this normally solves most technical issues, the rest are purely down to 'some sort of mistake or error' which will require an even greater specialist than me.

Now reached 110,332 confirmations.
Been advised by their customer services that they do not deal with computer problems but were unable to give me contact details for the relevant department.
Does anyone know of a newspaper that might me interested in this fiasco ?

I would set up an auto-forwarding rule back to British Gas - they might do something then when their inbox starts filling up!

I'd pop the story in to their Facebook, Twitter and Instagram pages.
That normally has a much quicker outcome than traditional routes these days in my experience.

Confirmations now standing at 175142. But don't worry BG are aware of a problem and are looking into it and will hopefully be able to get back to me on Monday. They didn't say which Monday !!!
