Kings World Trust for Children | Founded in 1993, Kings World Trust for Children (KWTC) helps poor, orphaned and disadvantaged children in India to realise their potential through education. We help children break out of the cycle of poverty, and support their right to an education by providing stable, loving homes, medical support and financial assistance. We work closely with our partner charity, Kings World Trust for Children in India, (KWTCI), who run our homes and services in Tamil Nadu State, South India. We currently support approximately 700 of the region’s most vulnerable children.
We offer a sustainable solution to child poverty. The children we support have often had a tragic and traumatic start in life, many have lost one or both parents and have no other ambition than to survive each day. By the time they leave our care, they are healthy and independent young adults with secure careers and bright futures ahead. Their own children will not need our help.
We rely on fundraising and donations for 100% of our income. We run a child sponsorship programme, whereby sponsors based primarily in the UK commit to funding (or part funding) a named child’s education. We want to offer many more poor and vulnerable children the chance to break away from the cycle of poverty and to do this we need to find many more sponsors. Please get in touch if you would like to find out more about becoming a sponsor, making a donation or helping us to fundraise.
We also run a successful volunteer programme. Every year we welcome skilled and unskilled (but enthusiastic!) volunteers who support the staff and help enrich the lives of the children in our care.
