Carnival Posters
- JM (19th Oct 2007 - 12:25:01)

Hi
Where are the lovely Carnival posters this year?
Its always a pleasure to walk and look at them in the shop windows - have they been done and judged yet?

Thank you for your comments about the posters. They were judged on Wednesday evening, and on Saturday I will be asking the shops in the village if they would mind us putting them up their windows for everyone to enjoy! It is a very busy time for the very small Carnival Committee but we will get round to completing all our many jobs in plenty of time for next Saturday!!

Yes Nat, you are absolutely right, the ones in the Anchor are the winners. I am in the process of producing a nice big notice with all their names on - if you give me a second I will run up there with it.....

Hi
Posters are great!!! Well done to everyone concerned.
A3 sports looks great - well done.
If anyone gets the time - get out of your car and walk around to have a look.
Well done

As of this am, there were no visible signs of posters in the shop windows down Station Road? Are any being placed here this year?

Hi

Thanks for the messages about posters. We have decided to display any posters that are not already up in the village down at Bohunt (from 12 noon) on Carnival day. Unfortunately many of the shops in Sation Road are unable to display the posters but I will pop round tomorrow just to check if anyone would like to put any up. Usually a couple of shop owners are happy to display some, but many have problems with window space and such things as condensation (bakers and hairdressers), sounds a little strange I know, but with the amount of glitter used on many of the posters it can present a problem! I think A3 Sports looks fantastic,so thank you for that lovely display! See you all on Saturday

Hi Karen,

To save you some time, I would love to have some of the posters on my window, but unfortunately can't accommodate them on the main shop, as most of the goods block the window during the day, and the shutters are down at night.

They are such colourful pictures and last year made that part of the carnival route, seem exactly that, part of Liphook!! I hope other shops can offer a space too. We do have a new shop now open in Station Road, 'Aladdins Cave' that is selling Fireworks so perhaps they would be good to call on!!

Sue

PS we do get a number of 'out of area' people visiting the launderette too, so that is perhaps another window to try!
