Noise at about 4am every morning!
- Debbie (7th Dec 2012 - 11:39:20)

I wonder if anyone can help me? I live in Griggs Green and back onto Old Thorns and every morning about 4am I'm woken by a high pitched whistling sound that stops and starts (apart from this morning when it was continuous!) for about half an hour. I like to sleep with the window open and once I'm woken at that time I can't get back to sleep! This morning at 4.23am I resorted to taping it on my phone! Does anybody else hear it or does anyone have any idea what it could be?

Debbie, yes we heard it too. Very annoying - we put an electric fan on to drown out the noise. I wondered if it might be a faulty house alarm.

Are you in the same area as me John? I had thought about a house alarm but its at the same time every morning and it's been going on for a couple of months now! It's like chinese water torture every night!

Yes, I think we know each other! Last night was the first time I have heard the noise for some months.

Hi contact old thorns it might be a faulty lighting detector I know they send out a high pitch sound similar to a hand held fog horn

Thanks Steve I'll ring them when I hear it and ask them to go outside to see if they can locate where it's coming from and John I did wonder if it was you!!
