Parish Council Loses Confidential Document - Barry Hope (3rd Oct 2007 - 23:01:56) Having an interest in council matters as I do, I occasionally have a look at the Parish Council web site. I had a look recently and came across this entry which was discussed under the exempt session of the council's full meeting dated 23rd July 2007. url.co.uk/d2pwd It concerns the loss of a confidential document and appoints two councillors to investigate. I guess this itself will be kept confidential so we will never know what it refers to. My worry is that this lost document (being confidential in nature) could contain the personal information of a councillor, an employee, a contractor, or indeed any member of the public that may have had dealings with the council recently. We, the public, will never be party to the outcome of the investigation, the contents of the document and / or the implications of the information contained therein if it got into the wrong hands. By the way, giving you this information is not breaking any confidences as the information comes straight off the councils own website. Best wishes Barry
