Kilimanjaro - Success! - Jenny Alexander (1st Oct 2007 - 22:52:09) Hi, After months of talking about it Rob Bennett and I finally made our trek up Kilimanjaro in aid of Great Ormond Street Childrens Hospital. After 6 long days Rob made it to the summit (5895 meters) at 8.20 in the morning - just in time to watch the sun rise over Africa. I was sent down at 5100 meters by the doctor with Altuitude Sickness and mild Hyperthermia - only 795 meters from the top! So far through sponsorship and local events we have raised over £3,900 for the new cardiac theatre at the hospital but we still have a way to go before we hit our £6,000 target.
