user manual for laptop? - nikki (11th Sep 2007 - 09:40:38)
Calling any techies...
Ive recently purchased a laptop from pc world. In the box were user manuals on windows vista but not on the specific make of laptop. I've had a look on the tech guys website (pc world's "help" desk portal)...but again only the above manual is available.
As it's the first time ive had a laptop,it's a little unfamiliar compared to my dektop pc.
Does anyone know where I could d'l 1 from or if it's the case nowadays not to include user manuals specific for each machine?
Thanks in advance
(it's an e system machine)

You can post questions on the website tho and ask them specific questions.

Are you sure the user manual is not already on the machine? Many PC manufacturers now do not supply a paper copy, presumably to save cost rather than for environmental reasons. Personally, I find reading a manual in Adobe Acrobat format hard work compared to flicking through a booklet. If its a newish machine you could do a quick search for *.pdf documents without having to wade through too many.

Hi Frank,
No,ive looked. The only manual I have on the machine is the user guide for windows vista.
I've actually just got off the phone to pc world (i didn't want to ring them initially as it's an expensive number)...and the customer services rep told me that they do not issue machine manuals with any of their emachine pc's/laptops. I was told "most people know how to use them" and "I can put you through to our techguys"...
But the link S provided is very useful and I guess i'll have to have a play around with it.
It just seems daft to me that you get manuals/user guides for most other electrical products which aren't half as complicated as computers.
