FAO Residents of The Grove
- David & Eneida Nelson (6th Sep 2007 - 09:58:50)

Any chance of you all getting together and sorting out the strip of land on the left hand side of the entrance to The Grove??

This is not only an eyesore....covered in cans, bottles and bits of take away food rubbish, but also full of razor sharp brambles, which are now spilling over half way across the pavement on the Headley Road.

A lot of very young children walk past this on their way to and from school every day and some of the thorns are now at their eye level, not to mention little arms and legs!!

I cut down some of the worse ones yesterday, but the whole area needs to be properly sorted out....I'm sure the mothers and children would be very grateful.

Hi there you are very public spirited! Perhaps Liphook in Bloom members might help?

Who actually owns the land? If it is PC land or EHDc land go into office and they should help - I do not live there but if you do not get any response from residents let me know via this page and I will help.

Hi Barbara,

Thanks for replying! The Grove is a Private Road. We're not sure who owns this particular strip of land, but from a map of the road we saw about 3/4 years ago at EHDC, this strip was not shown as belonging to any particular house, so we assume it's communal land owned by all the residents.

The problem is that the lady who, we believe, used to ran the Residents committee moved away last year and we don't know if anybody is in charge now.

We don't want to start an argument with the residents or cause a big fuss, but we are very concerned at the state this land has got into, especially since it adjoins our house....apart from the brambles spilling on to the pavement I have a constant battle with the ones coming through and under my fence !!

And of course all the take away rubbish may well be attracting our little furry friends....

LOL Barbara!!

I'd love to do a 'Rosemary and Thyme' with you, but don't you think they might order us off their land and charge us with trespasssing?? :D
