Samsung Galaxy Ace
- Charlie (24th Nov 2012 - 19:49:58)

I was thinking of getting a Samsung Galaxy Ace. I have read a few reviews on the Carphone Warehouse website and it mentions that the battery life is poor, does anybody currently own one or know of somebody who does and is it true? Other than that it seems like a perfect phone to get so I'm hoping it's not true. Also, is the Vodaphone reception/signal still good in the Liphook area?

If you get one of these phones you'll spend two years wondering why you did not get an iPhone.

I have found that whilst Vodafone voice coverage is good in the area, 3G Data coverage is not and you really need this to justify buying the advanced features of this type of phone.

3 Network have a better 3G coverage and it is fine in Liphook.

Another consideration is, of course, 4G which won't be in Liphook anytime soon but is already available in many Cities, such as London, but not for users of the Galaxy Ace.

Get an iPhone on 3 and you won't be disappointed. Buy it (or anything) using this link and you get around £50 cashback (and I get a fiver).

Mike,
Thank you for taking the time to write the previous comment but I don't think I'll be getting an iPhone anytime soon because my funds wont run to any deal.

I can\'t really comment on the phone but if it\'s anything like my Galaxy Mini, the standard 1200mAH battery is inadequate. So I bought a 2680mAH Gold battery from an ebay dealer called ecell and this has made it a much more practical phone. If you only switch on WiFi and Navigator when needed that helps a lot too.

I'm not very impressed with 3 at all.
I can't get 3g in many parts of the village and even if I do stuff still won't load.
At the moment I can't get a network inside most peoples houses, very poor.
I have complained twice but either end up speaking to someone in India or told to try the troubleshooter and get my phone fixed. My phone is fine.

I think I'm going to go back to Tesco at the end of my contract.

I have a Samsung Galaxy Ace which I am happy with, but as my previous phone was an old fashioned simple calls & text type phone, I don't have anything with which I can compare the Samsung, hence I'm not the best judge of its merits or faults.

It works fine for me .....I do have to charge it most nights but the battery easily lasts all day, however I don't live my whole social life on my phone as some seem to, so again not necessarily the best judge.

Can't comment on Vodafone as I use EE (Orange/T-mobile).
