Hi ,
Anyone able to help . . am self-employed and customer from alton will not pay my extras on invoice that he asked me to do . Have made 2 requests for money and he will not answer . . and joy of joys he is a top solicitor ....great

Check and see if any of your insurances offer you free legals - quite a few do but it might be an optional extra. I think ones like More Than and even the AA offer it, then you can get advice from them.

Otherwise you will need to go via the small claims court - the courts used to have a leaftlet to help you, or there will be something on line. The court staff will probably help. You will need to pay a fee to start the process but you can claim it back (if successful). Don't be daunted by the fact that he is a solicitor - they don't all specialise in litigation and the facts will speak for themselves.

I don't think the Law Society look too kindly on solicitors who have County Court judgments against them so you may find that if you write another letter advising that you will take this action, he will pay up (unless he thinks there is good reason not to pay).

Did you agree with him that you would do the extras before doing them, from my understanding (I may be wrong) if you did not agree it with him first to do the extra work he does not have to pay it.
He only has to pay for what you both agreed on.
Try the CAB website see if there is anythong on there.

thanks all,
yes all work only done after talking to client, so he will have one more chance then i think court will get a visit
