paris hotels - Kath Harvey (15th Nov 2012 - 17:29:17) Hi can anyone recommend a good but not too expensive hotel in Paris, child friendly if possible, near but not necessarily in the centre but with good transport links?

Re: paris hotels - Phil (16th Nov 2012 - 09:56:59) I've worked in Paris previously, and there is a huge variety of hotels and of course price range! However, a year ago I did a cycle race which ended in Paris and was put up in an Ibis hotel south of the Eiffel Tower. It was about £70 per night per room, and was billed as a 3 or 4 star hotel. It was in fact really good, and better than more expensive hotels I've stayed in. It had a gym and swimming pool, was near a Metro station and I think it was in Place d'Italie (I was a bit drained by then and didn't pay too much attention!). I remember noting that I would happily take my family to any of the Ibis hotels in Paris, as they were fairly priced, were clean and safe, and had a good range of amenities. And most of the 'interest' in Paris is of course outside the hotel, so I can recommend the chain. Hope this helps,

Re: paris hotels - suzanne titcomb (16th Nov 2012 - 17:24:31) Hi Having lived here near Paris for 20 years I can say the Ibis are excellent and at this moment they also have Ibis budget new hotels much cheaper and up to very good standards a very good way to stay near Paris for sightseeing If I can be of any more assistance let me know
