Gig In The Garden 2007
- Ben Lawrance (27th Jul 2007 - 17:25:58)
Hi All,
Only 2 weeks to go until GITG and it's looking to be a fantastic night.
The bands have all been confirmed and can be seen at www.gitg.org
This year see's the addition of a Beer tent to speed up the service of drinks, and a BBQ.
Don't forget folks that GITG is completely FREE to get in, with collections being taken for Macmillan Cancer Care.
The lovely lady at The Met Office seems to think it will be a nice day for us.
More information can be found on www.gitg.org, or by e-mailing me on info@gitg.org.

Hi Ben,
Is it the same punk "The Banned", 3 brothers that hail New York ?
Methinks unlikely !
Kids & me looking forward to it as we had a really great time last year.
Cheers, Finchie
PS Ed - I haven't posted for a while. I like your "Prove you are human" anti-spam question ! However, please could you make it a little easier as we want as many people to post as possible :-)

GITG starts at 5pm, with the first band on at 6pm.
The last band will finish at 11pm on the dot and not a minute later.
If you go to the Anchor as of tomorrow (Wednesday 8th) you will see us hard at work putting it all together, come say hello (and get a round in!!!)
I hope to see lots of you there.
Don't forget the website! WWW.GITG.ORG

hello,
Just like to say a big fat well done to everyone at the Anchor we had a great night. It was amazing to see so many local people all out having a great time for a very good cause.
I think more events like this should be held in the village as it had people of all ages from the village enjoying some very talented local acts.
And the anchor did turn off the music at 11 on the dot as promised which for us at the event was rubbish, but for those not supporting the event I'm sure must have appreciated that they stuck to the plan.

Ben and everyone who helped -
Great evening. Thank you to the whole team and the bands. Particularly liked the heavy metal boys (from Leigh Park?).
Hope everyone dug deep and filled the buckets for Macmillan Nurses.

Ben,
Thanks, it was a very enjoyable night. More importantly it was great to see so many generations of Liphook people enjoying themselves together.
Why do things like this only happen once a year?
Cheers,
Mike

I enjoyed the evening too- it was good that it was so well organised that any trouble makers stayed away well done.As regards more events in the village, it is a brave soul to take this on in these days of insurance cover costs screening the helpers for child protection issues etc, it is not as easy as it first appears, also the police have their say etc I have heard that even some events at the Millenium Hall are not as well attended as they could be, so this discourages people from risking organising future events in case there is a financial loss.

hello
with regards to the millennium centre as i think we now have to call it perhaps the reason not so many people attend events there is because of its lack of atmosphere to be quite honest your just as well of at the bohunt for a party or show etc these days. just my opinion.
