Although it was not my intention to threaten the Post Office.

Nice to see your still here James, unlike "call me Dave" who has legged it off to Rwanda whilst many of his constituents are swimming everywhere. Discussing the next wallop of aid money (£46 Million last year), I bet all the people who have lost their homes, belongings and everything they own, never get insurance again and are left with a house that nobody will buy really appreciate that.
Never mind I expect somebody somewhere in the world will arrange a concert to raise funds for all affected.
Dream on.

When I read that headline I had visions of James turning up wearing a 'hoodie' ;)
But seriously, I do hope something can be done to save the Passfield PO. Not only for the sake of John and Sue and the residents....but also as someone living on the Headley Road, near the Liphook PO, the thought of all that extra traffic and parking is really worrying !!!
Good Luck

Well done for turning up all of you.
But don't forget to ALL write to James Arbuthnot about it as well.
That is more important than turning up to hear what he said.
Please, you must all write or e-mail.

Anyone know his e mail address? The "hear from your MP" link doesn't seem to work.

Yes, I do. It's arbuthnotj@parliament.uk.
I thought the turnout yesterday was quite fantastic. Far more than I had been expecting, and it shows the real strength of support for what John and Sue are doing and for the local community in general.
Purplecurly is right. Please write to me with your views about what the postoffice gives and does to both the local villages of Passfield and Conford. Put it in your own words so that there is no sense of a formulaic protest. I will then pass on each letter or e-mail to Mr Leighton. And maybe - just maybe - it will make a difference.

One of the things that came up last week was the letter that the Post Office had sent to all sub-postmasters, about which I have written to the Post Office. This now (though nothing to do with me) seems to have hit the headlines, and the Post Office is saying sorry.
