Forum etiquette
- Editor (4th Jul 2007 - 21:08:13)
Hi
Just a brief note from the editor....
I am the moderator of this forum. I ensure that no adverts for Viagra get posted (yes, several a day try to get on here), and that the language used is not too rude.
I also delete some posts when people named in the posts legitimately request there removal.
I do not consider it to by my role to prevent people from using a pseudonym, and to be perfectly honest do not have the time to check the IP addresses and email addresses of everybody that posts.
Discussions should be fairly light hearted and people should not feel compelled to defend their honor in public.

Appreciate, it must be a very hard job Alan!

Fair enough, Alan.
As Steve says, it's not easy keeping a steady hand on any public forum.
In future, when I'm aware people are - in my opinion - misusing aliases, I'll make you aware - before I say anything!!
Still, with the increase in hits to the site, the advertisers are probably getting more business. Every cloud....
cheers
Freddie

Freddie,
I agree totally with your comments - leave it to others to excerise their control, I am glad that you are happy and confirm your praise on the Editor, the fact that you are open in this comment, must be therapy for you, and trying to control others may not have been to cleaver. We are now kindred spirits, joined in one belief that to find good, and seek peace is truley the way of the world, which is reflected in this site.

Forum Etiquette??
There is none. What is the point in posting under two names on one subject? We are all allowed to think for ourselves and comment. This forum is turning into a farce. If a comment is made and certain names (or both or whoever they are on that day) dont agree, we end up with a novel length objection putting that person down.
I do not agree with the way that certain individuals seem to think that they rule this forum and can continue to make unsubstantiated comments and feel that smart one liners are clever or credible. Its great that ex PC and new PC members post on here. It gives us a chance to pick their brains and get informative answers.
Whether you agree with that person or not, respect what they have said and give a credible and legible rebuttle, don't comeback with a personal attack on their integrity. I would expect that in a playground not a forum for adults.
End of!!!!!!!!!!!

Ron,
This used to be a forum for adults. We used to have some really interesting debates, but that was long ago.
I don't really think it's like a play ground now though...even small children have their own form of logic and sense of fair play....I think the inmates have taken over the asylum!!!!
I find it all very sad and rather nasty......

I blame Sainsburys!
This forum was so much politer before they destroyed civilisation as we know it by coming to the village.
