Greenest Of Them All!!
- Eneida (30th Jun 2007 - 09:28:45)
Anyone watch the BBC2 programme last night called How Green Is Your High Street?
They investigated 10 popular shops for carbon footprints, packaging etc. Some were non-food, but out of the supermarkets measured Somerfields came bottom at #10, Sainsburys were #6, Tesco #3, M&S #2 and The Co-Op #1!!!
I was quite amazed....from the point of view that some of the others make such a song and dance about being green and I've never seen the Co-Op banging on about it.

Its nice to see that the Co-Op have come out on top of something!!.
I popped into our local one 2 wks ago, to buy food, and am sure that the choice has been increased, the quality improved, so I would presume that more are now using them. I would however love to see them re-open their shop in Station Road, (as they still own the lease) and do up their CAR PARK. The shop front was improved last year.
