Re: WHO IS GEN?

They mock poor Gen,
Anon & Co,
But then they’re men
And so we know
They just can’t see
How much they owe.
Yes, chaps, swear and cuss
The fact you’re here is down to us!
We like to read
We may need specs
Small things amuse -
Not always sex,
And dirty jokes.
But then, my dears,
They’re only blokes!
We can’t expect some silky purses -
On this sow’s ear falls only curses!
They may enjoy
The local thread,
But all can speak -
And if it’s said
I stick my nose
In every pie
Or burger even
Then I’ll sigh
And carry on, regardless, men
At least that way, you’ll know I’m Gen!

You're right Candy, it is huge fun! I didn't know anyone when I moved here, well a couple of people, and now I seem to know you all, even if I can't put faces on you. In some ways it's nice not knowing, you imagine - Little Bo Peep, for instance...

Re: WHO IS GEN?
- gen (15th Jun 2007 - 08:24:51)
Gen is for genuine
For gender, for gen,
And she isn’t quite sure
How she feels about men.
She likes them around
When they’re helpful and kind
But how many men
Like that can you find?
The one at home’s nice
He’s been there forever
He’s no commonsense
Yet’s exceedingly clever.
We rub along nicely
Yet I'm in defeat
For he rarely remembers
To put down the seat!
You know what I mean. girls
But what can we do?
When in the night, sleepy,
We fall down the loo!

I married my wife precisely because her biggest problem in life was not the position of the toilet seat.
That said if it is a problem for you then why not consider one of these:
joes-plumbing.com/toilet_seat

Re: WHO IS GEN?

I have a feeling that I should be able to see some pictures on that plumbing site - rather like the pictures I can't see on this site. Wish I knew why my computer won't show them! But I am sure it is a funny one, so thanks for trying mike!

Gen
You really are a gem,not a Gen. Your bit about falling down the loo was superb,i've often wondered why women make such a fuss about the loo seat and now i know ! Conversely just think what happens when we men don't realise the seat is down in the dark...it happens !
All the best,John ..
Ps the pics were great !

Dear John W - this is an addition, just for you! Come on the rest of you - add a verse!
Poor John has a problem
When sleepy at night
The answer’s the garden
By bright moonlight.
Have you seen all his roses
So lush and green?
And no fertilisers
Can ever be seen!

Re: WHO IS GEN?
- John W (16th Jun 2007 - 21:43:21)
Gen,
Thanks for that ! If you want a clue for the next verse how about "there's a hole in my bucket dear Liza dear Liza......."
By the way,i've worked out why you can't see all those pics...your monitor's too small ! Size does matter !
TTFN John ..

Re: WHO IS GEN?
- gen (16th Jun 2007 - 22:33:16)
John W
Well you did say you were sleepy - maybe you lost your way and ended up in the rhodos.
My monitor is one of the modern wide angle jobs that means I can work on two items at the same time side by side, so don't think size is the issue here.
It is a most frustrating problem...

Re: WHO IS GEN?
- John W (17th Jun 2007 - 21:44:03)
Gen.
You get worse, the monitor size was meant to be a joke but has fallen as flat as a pancake.....or are you just calling my bluff ?
Tara for now, John ..

You've been talking to my husband! I sometimes have to have them explained to me, I agree, it does rather ruin them for the person telling them. I would have had to see the twinkle in your eye to know that it was a joke. Hopeles, aren't I!

Re: WHO IS GEN?
- gen (18th Jun 2007 - 19:49:32)
Sorry - I answered on the photos thread - when I turn off my Nortons firewall I find I can get the photos. My question is, how to adjust the Nortons? I've looked at it, and I seem to have ticks everywhere, so unless the website is using something obscure - java (hardly obscure or Activex?) I may have got that wrong. Does anyone else have a Nortons Firewall who can help?

Re: WHO IS GEN?
- Paul Robinson (18th Jun 2007 - 23:24:06)
So, there you are with your Norton switched off, naked as a jaybird, gawping at the pictures and how do you feel?
Fact is, its hardly worth the trip.
Cover yourself with the warm, comforting security blanket that is Norton and content yourself with the knowledge that you have been there and back again and you have not been attacked by any of the many unseemly elements that hang around our virtual worlds waiting for vulnerable young limbs like us, bent on ruining our lives with their inane gobblededook ways.
Concentrate on the important things of life
Paul

Aren't you curious about things? Where is your sense of adventure, your desire to learn?
