Builder recommendations
- Helen (4th Jun 2007 - 16:55:02)

Hello

I would be grateful for any builder recommendations to build an extension for us.

I thought I had seen a previous post re builders but can't find it.

Many thanks in advance for your help

Helen

We're using Holmes Building Services, small family business, a man with his brother-in-law and their two sons. One of the men is a skilled plasterer and can turn his hand to a few other trades and he also has a favourite gas fitter and an electrician. The brother-in-law is pretty skilled at erecting kitchen units, carpentry, general plumbing and wall-tiling. The boys do the heavy stuff. Very polite and clean-up after themselves, can be trusted alone in the house. good with emails - that's how we keep in contact when they aren't here. Reasonable prices.

We have recently built a new house and employed local workmen for almost everything.

I can give you good recomendations if you want to contact me purplecurly@hotmail.co.uk.

Alternatively, if you want to buy a new 5 bed house in Passfield it has just come back onto the market after the buyers changed their minds!! Don't people make you cross!!!!

Does anyone know if the builders mentioned here have their own plumbers and electricians working with them?

Mine all contracted out. Is it a big job? for small jobs I would recommend Tony Barton.

Try Alan Mellish on 01428 724144 or 07831 130816. Local craftsman lives in Liphook has done several jobs for me. Quick effecient and very reasonable.
