I am so sorry that you must have already purchased your blinkers from somewhere else - not surprised at all.

You hype up a store and rubbish others, and say they do more for the community. What? Build a shop how cleaver. Lots of other business go further than that, and while on the subject we too do our bit for a local youth event by sponsoring the football shirts for one of the football teams. Along with aid to those building a float for the Carnival, sponsoring Liphook In Bloom, and many other 'good causes' around. Plus we do provide a good service to those who come to us and enjoy a chat, joke or moan. Hampshires provide a spectacular fireworks display for all to enjoy and if you look others do similar things. More to a community than a Supermarket will ever be.

I have just heard about this site from a number of friends who live in the Liphook area, and whilst I admire your residents v sainsburys stance I really can't see what you hope to acheive in your efforts to slander the store and the staff who work there. At the end of the day everyone, unless they are uber rich, have to work so why not just let the people from sainsburys do their job so that just like you they can provide for their families.

At the end of the day if your shops are good they will sell theirselves, and even if you do succeed in removing Sainsburys, I'm sure Tescos will move right in behind them. Instead of spending time fighting something that will never be resolved why don't you concentrate on your own business, and making it the best it can be under the circumstances.

Really it all comes down to personal choice - people will shop where they want to. If you're the best then it will be you x

Sarah,

I will allow you some very grave errors in your judgement of the situation, as you have obviously not read all the posts, having been introducted by friends, but welcome you nevertheless. (This subject heading is for comments to Phil really, but i presume by your text that it is me you were aiming at?)

The situation is NOT about removing Sainsbury's.

The situation is not to slag off staff members.

And just a quickie - the whole thing is about my Business yes - but businesses of others too- not necessarily here in little Liphook. A much broader issue.

If nothing else I have to congratulate Sainsbury's for giving me the tools to highlight that we are here in Liphook, and by the 100's of people that have made the effort to visit our shop and support it, they think its worth it too!!.

thanks for your interest.

Sarah,

I think you should be more aware of what words you use to describe what peoples motives are - SLANDER the word used by you means to say something 'Untrue and malicious' about someone. Please provide your evidence.

Thank to Sue & Candyfloss for your replys to my message. I'll address both of you if I can:

Candyfloss: I am led to believe that a previous email regarding Sainsburys staff refered to them as "dungbeetles" A bit harsh I would say, and I'm led to believe that a previous email had to removed fro "slander". And refering to sainsburys as "cancer" is awful and unexcuseable. Anyone who has ever had a relative or friend with cancer will definately say that the two things are not the same.

Sue: My email to this post was merely in response to the whole thing rather than at you directly and I will aplogise if you feel this. I work in a small business in Aldershot so I know and am aware of the issues that you face. As a family run estate agents we are up against over 10 other agents with yet another one being built in the next month. My boss has been in the business for over 20 years and on the same premises, and rather than fold he has changed what we offer, and not once, it's always changing - that's business. Unfortunately it is a sad fact that people will opt for bigger stores due to their return/exchange policys, competitive pricing, loyalty schemes, and the fact they can get everything from one store - (handy when the kids are begging to go home!). Can I ask if the 100's of shoppers you mentioned actually bought anything when they lent their support coz if that's the case surely Sainsburys isn't an issue!!!!!

Maybe people should be encouraged to do a "mystery shopper" questionaire round all the local businesses of Liphook & rate them, I think that would give a broader view of how other locals - and I don't mean regulars to this site, see the shops & facilities on offer. They do it all the time for places like Burger King, Tesco, Garages & yes Sainsburys.

Also just to prove I have read some of the postings on this site I'm glad sainsburys do not offer toilets to everyone (if this is the case), remember the little girl who was attacked in a toilet in another store just a few months ago! I rest my case!

I think the dungbeetle reference was a frequent poster on this site referring to himself as a dungbeetle when describing his occasional use of Sainsburies to purchase sundry consumer items. Needless to say that in itself is a whole different subject that could invite comment from the The Royal College of Psychiatrists but no reference has ever been made to Sainsbury's staff as dungbeetles, unless said poster actually works there.
It's a mad world!

Sarah,

The 100's of people are recorded on till receipts, (over the past Month i may add) and yes they have all purchased something. If you had read more than a few post, you would also know that it has only happened because we have made people aware of the situation, and they have bought with that in mind. You are right, if sales continue - there will be no problem, and we hope that is the case. But I, like other business will try anything to highlight issues, and problems - that way people dont feel left out of the loop. Good business i would say!
