Public Transport accessibility for Wheelchair users
- Nikki Y (4th Oct 2012 - 13:38:15)

Are there any Wheelchair users in Liphook who have had experience in travelling from Liphook to Waterloo on the train? Im recently disabled and using a wheelchair, the furthest i have travelled so far is the Supermarket! Would like to know how accessible Liphook Train Station is & if I need to book my travel in advance. Many Thanks

This may help (from South West Trains website):

I think SWT will pay for a taxi to Haslemere if you need to travel south. As I'm sure you know, Haslemere has a footbridge with lifts.

Shame SWT can't spell "making" though! maiking rail accessible for web - tee hee

On Monday the 8th Oct there is a Public Transport Meeting at the Peak Centre Midhurst Road at 10-30a.m. and lots of issues are going to be discussed about local transport and also the problems with everyone who cannot get on or off the trains and assistance at Liphook Station. Trust all those in the village who have any issues they want discussed will come to the meeting or send a representative -this is a chance for everyone to have their say.

Speaking from experience, Always remember to book the ramp!! Surrey only have a few ramps and they go between the stations. Not to sure what the deal is in Hampshire.
