Major Electronic Music Festival In Liphook
- Steve Jenkins (23rd Jan 2004 - 22:33:36)

For anyone who ever had an interest in Tangerine Dream, Mike Oldfield, Jean-Michel Jarre or Kraftwerk:

I am organising the Third "Hampshire Jam" on Oct 23 2004 at Liphook Millennium Hall. This event is the largest in the UK of its kind and details can be found at www.hampshirejam.co.uk I hope that anyone who wonders what ever happened to electronic music after the 70's might care to come along and be pleasantly surprised...and its NOT Techno..God forbid.

Please conatct me for further details

Can I suggest you contact some of the young people in my street as I have the pleasure of listening to their music at this time of year from the comfort of my livingroom chair, whilst watching my television with the windows and doors firmly closed! and my volume control turned up high!

I seriously hope you will advertise this in the local high school and press.

Um.... if you think electronic music died after the 70s then you are sorely mistaken. Please at least look into labels such as Warp Records, including two of their biggest acts "Autechre" & "Aphex Twin" who are very popular. It may have come *from* Techno, but techno it is not... it's modern day electronic music.... also there is a performance by the london sinfonietta in march at the royal festival hall of some of Warp's artists works, so they are also receiving acclaim in the classical world.
