Liphook u14's followed up last years premiership title with a runners-up finish this year. Unbeaten in their last 15 games and 11 wins on the trot, this has been a good season after a slow start. Liphook youth is now producing good young talent to feed a successful mens team. 9 of this squad played for the representative team this year, well done Gary and the boys.

I'll add my congratulations to Gary's team and also all of the other teams in Liphook for this season's efforts.
For those of you who would like to take a day or 2 off from discussing Sainsburys and Lidl, why not venture down to Liphook Football club's annual youth tournament held on Saturday 2nd & Sunday 3rd June at Bohunt?
There are teams playing through all youth age groups and a lot of clubs in the local area are bringing teams to play. Plenty of football action to be seen rather than watching how badly people stack shelves.
The tournament is a fund raising event for the football club and you never know, if you all spend a little (well lots really) on refreshments throughout both days the club might be able to raise enough cash to buy out Sainsburys and purchase the OSU site to build another 'New Wembley' in the centre of the village! I'm sure they'll plan to sell milk and eggs in one of the many kiosks :-)
All jokes apart, come along and support the village's football club and their youth teams.

Re: Youth football - Clive (23rd May 2007 - 14:12:17)
Phil,
I'm not sure if you mean the under 9's from last season or for next season. The managers usually move up each year with their teams so last year's under 9's will probably run next year's under 10's now the season has finished.
Have a look at the club's web site for contact details. Nigel Marr would be a good start point - his contact details are listed.

thankyou for the kind words the under 14`s have been a pleasure once again to manage. as i am sure are all the other youth teams in liphook. a new stadium on the sainsburys site would be fantastic as i know we have the structure of very good young players coming through that would grace any new ground.
lastly i would like to thank nige and all the members for there support on keeping this club going i know at times its not easy so keep up the good work
