I was delighted to read in the paper that Waverley Council have at last secured Undershaw against vandals.
But how appalling that the home of a National Treasure, IMO, like Sir Authur Conan Doyle should have been allowed to fall into such a state in the first place!!
For anybody out there who doesn't know what I'm talking about, he was the creator of Sherlock Holmes and his house was a particularly fine example of Victorian/Arts and Crafts architecture....sadly a lot of important features have now been destroyed by yobs....grrrr
