Transport Forum
- anne (14th Sep 2012 - 14:56:13)

On Monday the 8th October at 10-30a.m.-Noon a Transport Forum is being held at the Liphook Day Centre,Midhurst Road Liphook. Because of transport difficulties for the young and older residents of Liphook and surrounding areas this Forum is being held to give everyone a chance to come together and express their views on this matter.Several local people have expressed how they would like to have a bus to travel further than just around Liphook and although there is a dial and ride service people have said how they would like the chance to travel when they wish and not just when the bus has to be booked. The village is growing with all the new houses for young and old but the transport doesn't seem to be considered a bus is needed more than just the shuttle that goes around the village to Sainsbury's and back. Although there is an excellent Voluntary Care Service that takes people to hospital appointments there is still a need for another bus service that people could use to visit realitives and families independently and in their own time without always having to make an appointment to travel. So please attend the Forum and have your say on the situation.

Please note that the Transport Forum is being held at the Liphook Day Centre and Not being arranged by them. The Forum is to get information and peoples views in readiness for the Parish Plan Forum which is being held at the Millenium Hall at the end of October. It appears that transport is one of the main problems for people living in Liphook so everyone's views can be discussed on the 8th October please come along and give support.

Well, it seems you are all happy with the Public transport in Liphook as there are no comments.

If you cant make the meeting then make your views known.
For example...

  • How do you get to Petersfield by bus? - It takes 2 and a half hours!
  • How do you get to Haslemere by bus?
  • What about the step up onto the Trains?
  • What about the local run around bus?

Come to the meeting and air your view.
