Knockers - Eneida (27th Feb 2007 - 22:00:49) I've noticed that, for the second day running, a team of Knockers is obviously doing the rounds in Liphook again. I find these people so annoying....the very first week I moved here from Devon, about 6 years ago now, I answered the door to a very aggresive young Northern sounding man, who called me all the names under the sun when I refused to buy one of his dusters or whatever..... I remember I was amazed and enraged and later found out from a neighbour that he (or his cohorts) had upset many people all over Liphook. Since this Government are so keen to ban everything why on earth don't they ban door-to-door salesmen??...far bigger pests than smokers IMO..... Eneida PS If any Knockers are reading this, let me tell you it's a pointless exercise knocking on my door for the next couple of months....it's stuck!!!

Re: Knockers - helen m (16th Mar 2007 - 11:47:02) couldn't agree more. i actually had a british gas man come round trying to get us to sign over to them. probably quiet a good deal but he called at 5.45 just as i was feeding my 5 month old and 2year old. i said i'd rather sort it out online and wouldnt be inviting him in now or if he cam back later which he continually offered to do. when i started to close the door he threw a bit of a strop and said very loudly and agressively 'i only get paid if you take it from me not if you do it online for god sake!' joy. thing is now my daughter walks around yelling for gods sake... thanks BG!
