Water hazard in Tower Road - Paul Robinson (29th Dec 2002 - 08:33:27) On 14th May this year I wrote to Colin Taylor at Hampshire County Council Highways Department in Petersfield to point out that the traffic calming road hump at the junction of Tower Road and Headley Road was creating a water hazard as each time it rained the water collected as it could not run away into the nearest drain in Headley Road. I did not receive a reply or acknowledgement to this letter so I wrote again on 10th September pointing out that nothing had been done and that with the onset of winter there was now considerable potential for this hazard to form ice at this busy junction. Again I did mot receive a reply or an acknowledgement so I sent copies of my correspondenc to the Haslemere Herald to elicit their support. They contacted the Highways Department who said that they hoped to be able to address this problem before Christmas. Nothing has been done. In my opinion only the mild weather has prevented an accident at this busy junction.
