Newspaper deliveries on Sainsbury's estate
- Lawrence Cook (3rd Sep 2012 - 10:24:50)

Why is there no papers being delivered on the estate?
I called in to newsagents and they informed there was no demand.
This seems a bit odd with so many houses.
We have just moved in at Canada Way.
Does anyone else want a paper delivered?

Two possibilities come to mind:
1) It's too rough an area. I was advised against buying there, even though the houses look great on the outside I was warned it's a teenager trouble point, not sure if it's true, I must say it surprises me.
2) It's so close to Sainsburys that people just pop in there.
Take your pick.

It's a lovely estate, I've walked through at many different times of the day and I've only ever met friendly, smiley people and kids. we all have problems with speeding cars and some anti social behaviour.
Got some good friends who live there too, who are lovely.

No demand probably means no demand because of the closeness of Sainsburys but by asking you are creating demand so I'm sure that will be taken into consideration.

Have you considered that it may be the newsagent has problems recruiting someone to deliver the papers or that it is not cost effective for him? I moved into an outer area of Liphook and despite both my neighbours having deliveries from the newsagent was told the same thing? NO demand. I believe it is an economic decision.
