Using Freesat in Liphook
- Jane G (29th Aug 2012 - 10:03:12)

We are considering moving from Sky to Freesat and just wondered if anyone in Liphook is using this and if the signal is any good?

Many thanks
Jane

Freesat is first class. No problems. I use a Humax Foxsat Hdr Freesat+ box which allows pause, rewind live tv and records. You also get to watch HD channels if you tele is HD ready.

Hi, yes Freesat is excellent - we have the same set-up as Boris. In fact, the signal for the free channels is the same as used by Sky, just rebranded as Freesat.

I believe there may eventually be a Freesat version of Youview coming, but probably not for a year or two.

I have had freesat for the past three years, and it's excellent, a wide selection of channels, and no problems with reception.

Freesat have just announced a new version - Freetime to be launched before Christmas. This looks really good and the boxes are around £279.00 which is not much more than the current good ones. Might be worth hanging-on until they launch or else wait to buy one of the existing boxes as their prices will probably drop beforehand.
