Carnival Float! - Paul (26th Sep 2006 - 10:58:31) Calling all local businesses or anyone with a flat-bed or soft-side lorry!! With only four weeks to go before Liphook Carnival 2006 we were let down by the people supplying our previous truck. Re: Carnival Float! - liphook guides and brownies (26th Sep 2006 - 16:46:37) we have the same problem again this year it happened last year too. how ever we need a lorry with soft sides and it MUST have a roof we cant use one with out! we do have people to drive it if the lorry comes with out driver and we are also covered by our own insurance for the night, so that should cause any problems if any body knows any one who can help us or the guys in the above thread please let us know. any who has ever been in the carnival will know how important its for us. :-)

Just think how many people attend (and raise a lot of money for) the LiDBA Bike ride. If I rememebr correctly, and please someone correct me if i'm wrong, that nearly £50k was raised this year. Thats a lot of money! So, to be politically correct, and to keep everyone happy. Maybe the term "equally best event" could be used???

The carnival is unquestionably the biggest night of the year in liphook. Although Ben probably hopes that his "Gig in the Garden" will be as big soon ! Good luck with your float.

Re: Carnival Float! - Mark Culverhouse (12th Oct 2006 - 20:58:00) Hi all Yes the LIDBA bike ride is a great event and raises a lot of money which goes to good causes but I think we have all missed the point that the Carnival is tradition in Liphook as it has now been going for over 100 years and raises well need money for good causes as well
