skateboarding at 1.30 am
- Richard (21st Aug 2012 - 10:52:52)

I was woken last night to an extreemely noisy youth who thought the early hours of the morning was an appropriate time to practice his sport of skateboarding. He was shouting obscenities, along with his friends. I assume they must have disturbed more than me, and that the residents of Canada Way, Ottawa, and Midhurst Road, probably had been woken too. I am hoping they will not return tonight. Did anyone else hear them?

Yes he"s a regular midnight skater and as you say his language is choice. I have young children who are complaining about the noise when windows are open at night, fortunately they haven't tuned into his language.

We also had some lads drive up one night recently in a new style black Peugeot 207/8 on a private plate - and they skated all over Canada / Huron in the middle of the nightfor about an hour then drove off.

Mild on the anti-social scale of things but may not take much to become a real nuisance.

I'm very shocked that you have not heard them before. Nearly every night we hear them. It's the car racing that shocks me more, a blue car with White stripes and a few more cars race round the sainsburys roundabout then up to the next roundabout then they park in sainsburys where they then play very loud music. An accident waiting to happen. As I write this at 23.04 they are they are racing up and down. How did the pass a driving test?

Maybe the council should put quite high speed bumps on that section of road (in between the two roundabouts) and Sainsbury\'s should close their car park with barriers after the store shuts??

it the case of the cars driving around in a manor that sounds very dangerous. it would be worth take the reg numbers and talking to the police! again a call to the local community support might be an option.

the more people who raise the issues with the powers that be the more chance something is going to be done about it.

that is all :-)

bye

ahh I know where the blue car with stripes lives! There is a black one there too and they both race too fast down the street where there are lots of children playing, hence my thoughts on play streets.

I have had my suspicions about his involvement in a few anti social behaviours over the past years but have never caught him, anyone else remember the flouring of the cars and the smashed in wing mirrors?. I did phone the police about him racing around the Sainsburys carpark at 6:30 one morning, he'd gone by the time they got there.

Him and his friend used to meet a girlfriend in the car park when I used to walk the dog there in the morning. His signal to her that he was there was to turn up the volume on his car stereo and I always wondered why nobody else had ever phoned the police.

If you call the police with the reg numbers they have to act on it. Once the have spoken to the owner and they get any more reports they are able to confiscate the cars. Use the 101 number, thats what its for!!!!

Agree completely with CK above. Contact Police at the time you witness Sainsburys being used as a race track late at night. The Police Inspector responsible for Liphook will be well aware of reported incidents of this nature going back 2 years at least.

This is anti-social behaviour at it's best, and the Police will work with Sainsburys to put solutions in place. However, they are not psychic. They do need to receive the information from the public in the first place. Each and every time. Don't assume someone else has rung them - make a call yourself. The more reports they receive makes it easier for them to build the anti-social behaviour case by showing that more than one person has been affected by it and how often it happens

Things like this happen. Remember, although I do not condone this they do not care and each post you make they laugh upon each of us. The police do nothing and are some sort of a laughing game amongst the youth community. Time to either accept they are being young and immature or become involved in a fight that has been lost before it had begun.

I hear the noise in the skate park on a daily occurance, loud car & sterio music, people staking until the early hours, something needs to be done about them, as its preventing me from sleeping !!

- Phil (24th Aug 2012 - 14:17:00)

Well the answer is simple then! Far from being taken for mugs, we just phone through on 101 with details and ensure Liphook is an orderly, safe and welcoming town.

We each have a part to play, so I for one will (continue to) contact the Police as and when necessary.

If we're on here moaning about it ,we should also put our efforts into preventing it and maintaining the 'quality of life' that - lets face it - most of us ended up in Liphook for.
