Hi! Fred not sure if you are a car driver but Liphook Day Centre rely on volunteer drivers to get the Clients to the Day Centre and home again.Further details from the Managers if you have time to pop in. Voluntary Care also require drivers to take people to the hospital may be worth contacting them.
If you are not a car driver Liphook In Bloom are always glad of help to keep the village looking lovely. There are several clubs and groups that advertise in the back of the local Community Magazine who may require help may be worth contacting some of them.

Hi Fred,
The Liphook Mellenium Centre often need volunteers and if you are local you would be perfect!
Please contact the Gabrielle at the Parish Office on 722988.
also, if you like dog walking, you could contact Firhill Pet Hotel (on the Hollywater Road) as the local pet rescue dogs are kept there and walkers are always needed. Although they operate as a kennels and cattery, the 'Rescue Remedy' dogs are kept in the back part of the centre.
There is also the cinnamon trust who need walkers locally.
If you are up to deliveries, you could be of help to meals on wheels.
There is also the C.A.B. who need advisors and offer all the training needed. That is a very rewarding and mind expanding opportunity.
I am sure you will be met with a tsunami of ideas after posting here.
Good luck.

Hi Dawn,
Many thanks for your help, there are some very good suggestions there.I do like cats and i do like dogs and i also like walking but i don't like picking up dog poo so i think i'll pass on that one, however i like the Millennium Centre idea and will give them a call.
Any further ideas gratefully received..

Hi fred
the scout movement welcome volunteers and in these times of families often living far apart from grandparents a senior role model is often missing.
the infant school used to have volunteers in to listen to the children read etc ( you would need to agree to a CRB check)
There also used to be volunteering opportunities at Bohunt especially if you have a skill to share such as a conversational foreign language
Some local care homes or nursing homes welcome volunteers to go in and read newspapers to those with failing sight or to share a skill such as playing chess or cards etc
Liphook in bloom is managed and run by volunteers.
If you have a particular interest in a specific charity you can go on their websites and look at local volunteering opportunities.
if you enjoy a particular pastime such as gardening you could contact the local religious ministers and ask if they know of anyone elderly or disabled who would appreciate a hand with the gardening
hope you find something suitable :)
