Charity that could help ?
- Karen (24th Jul 2012 - 02:06:45)

Hi just to ask if anyone knows of any charities that could help my daughter with train fare?

She is going to Havant collage to do courses to then go on to do nursing. Now my husband works, so there is no help what so ever for her out there. Its not fair that she is trying really hard to go to collage and better herself and there is no help out there for her, thankyou for reading

Am not sure if you can get help from the Bramshott Educational Trust. I understand that they give support and help to young people whether they could help your daughter may be worth a try. They are advertised in the Clubs & Organistions page of the Liphook Magazine. Hope your daughter can get help if not from them but somewhere else. Good luck

I suggest you try Bramshott Educational Trust. www.bramshotteducationaltrust.org.uk/

They assisted my grandaughter with fares when she was at Guildford College.

In addition she obtained a weekend job in her chosen profession which not only helped her financially but also with course work

I thought Havant college were offering free buses as a way of encouraging people from further north to attend their college. I know the careers person at Bohunt School told me about it. Might be worth getting in touch with the College they might know more.

Our daughter got herself weekend & holiday work & helped herself.

She is self motivated and now a qualified teacher, teaching 16 - 18 year olds.

Its a good start if they help themselves and demonstrate some commitment to their chosen progression route, rather than expecting a hand out !
