Road signs
- Sam Dunning (18th Jul 2012 - 08:49:03)

Not being very familiar with the area, whenever I drive through Liphook to some other destination I always get lost. There are two roundabouts close to each other in the centre of the town (village?) which do not appear to have any signposts. Am I correct? If so I will avoid Liphook in future.

Hi Sam, a quick look on Google streetview shows that there are adequate signs for a small village to have on display.

Don't take this the wrong way but if fewer road signs keeps traffic out of Liphook than that is a very good thing!!

Sam,
When we first moved here I hated the 3 roundabout thing. I got lost or went the wrong way for months and months.

It is difficult to look at the signs and fully digest the information when you have got people trying to rush you.

I got used to it a lot quicker than I managed to get my head around Farnham one-way system!

have to agree with liz on that one. no offence to sam though.

Far too many cars cutting through the villiage. Nobody knows how to use the roundabouts, always hooting each other and then all hesitate and the go at once!

The signs on the A3 (travelling North) still show Haslemere being accessed through Liphook, rather than travelling almost to the mouth of the tunnell and going down the hill from Hindhead into Haslemere. This would explain the large number of lorries and other traffic still travelling through the village! The extra confusion relating to the road works in Haslemere can't help.
The lack of indication by drivers at all 3 toundabouts adds to the dithering by drivers( in my opinion) !
