My name is Carolyn and I live in Liphook. Whilst Im not a qualified teacher I have tutored my daughter along with some of her friends last year (yr 6) up to common entrance exam and also to get into top girls schools. She gained a top academic scholarship from Priorsfield and a top academic scholarship at the Royal school. I have a first class maths degree so I know my Maths! but more important at this age is to make sure they understand all the concepts and to practice them!
Although she was being taught well at her primary school - I felt she was missing practice and some concepts she just didn\\\'t get. She ended up with a level 5a! at she is only just 11.
So - I know the syllabus they have to cover and have all the practice papers and books and I am good with children. Her father is a teacher as well - but at secondary school.
In summary - I would be delighted to help if you still need someone - as this is a career I am thinking of changing to.
Please feel free to get in touch carolynjane99@live.co.uk. Im happy to come and have a chat about what you think you need. As Im not a qualified teacher Im happy to negotiate a good rate and am happy to pass on a reference from another local mum whose daughter I helped out - who is also on her way to Priorsfield in Sep.
Kind Regards
Carolyn
Re: Key Stage 2 Maths Tutor needed - R Cameron (9th Aug 2012 - 09:47:31)
I know of a retired Y6 class teacher who taught in a Liphook school, for common entrance. He does work from home, lives locally and would thoroughly recommend him.
