Mary Ann Robinson
- Lin Hunter (12th Jul 2012 - 09:34:46)

My great great grandmother was born in Liphook in 1832 her name was Mary Ann Robinson. She married a Mr Sadler Gifford.

I know this maybe a bit of a big ask but would there be anyone in this lovely place that would be able to add to my family history?

I believe her father was William and mum also Mary.

Thanks very much for your time hope you might be able to add for me.

Regards
Lin

It would Seem, that Sadler Gifford & Mary Ann Robinson, married
January 1858, In Brighton, and then moved to Thorpe, Essex.
according to the 1861 Census,
they had a daughter called Anne, born c1859, in Thorpe, Essex, and also a daughter called Mary, Born c1860, Thorpe, Essex.

at the time of the 1861 census, Mary's Brother, Thomas, was also living with them.

In 1871, They were living in Brighton, and had further children;
aswell as Annie, and Mary,
George R Gifford Born c1864, Thorpe, Essex
John T Gifford B 1867, Brighton
Charles Gifford b1870, Brighton.

in 1881, they were living at ; 39 Hampden Rd, Brighton.
Sadler Gifford is listed as a Carpenter.
Mary Gifford(robinson), listed as Laundress.
Still living with them children;
Mary
John
Charles

1891 Census
Living at 9 Southampton Street, Brighton.
Sadler listed as Carpenter,
Mary listed as Laundress,...no children living with them!

Hope this helps,..and if you already have this info, then...oh well, not to worry..
Thanks
